I've followed David Stanley's articles for a while now, and this video explains my dividend strategy to a T. Watch it, then watch it again to learn why dividend investing is THE most consistent and sure fire way to invest.
Enjoy!

Do you actually rebalance every year?
He was basically explaining the Canadian version strategy from the Dogs of the Dow. A term coined by Michael O'Higgins. I read about it a few times now. Recently in Money Sense and some years ago also in Money Sense. I have not executed on it though. Tempting though ...
To Passive Income Earner:
At the beginning of the video, he says he picks the highest yielding stocks, the cheapest priced dividend stock. Then later in the video he says he holds for long term, re investing the dividends. It is a little confusing, and does sound like a dog of the tsx strategy.
The video; inconsistent, yes. Investing in dividends for long-term wealth; absolutely, yes.
Let's keep investing in good companies that pay dividends gentlemen!
